Chillinit, Carla Geneve, Shakamoto, Angelo The Poet, Sweaty Bettys and more live in Wollongong this week

Jeb Taylor

This week's live music kicks off at Waves on Friday April 26th with Sydney rapper Chillinit in town, his unique take on the Australian Crawl classic Boys Light Up made an appearance in the Triple J Hottest 100 earlier this year and he'll be supporting his new album which you can get on vinyl right here.

There is a big all ages show happening at Wollongong Youth Centre this Friday with young local psych rock band Shakamoto launching their debut single Oggy. It starts at 6pm and entry is just $5.

On Saturday night at La La La's local band Cheeky Leash launch their debut single with guests Civic Video and The Vandastruts. Also happening on Saturday night, The Sweaty Bettys take to the Dicey Rileys stage for a free show!

If you're feeling nostalgic on Saturday night, it might be worth a trip out to Anita's Theatre in Thirroul with FM radio favourite and inaugural Australian idol runner up Shannon Noll playing for the 20th anniversary of his album That's What I'm Talkin About.

Sunday at La La La's is the hip hop event Locked Off  that features one of our favourite local hip hop artists Angelo the Poet, while over at the North Gong Hotel on Sunday is a free local show from Perth singer/songwriter Carla Geneve.
