release of the week
WINNEBAGO DEAL
FLIGHT OF THE RAVEN
CD/DVD
$20.00
Described by a customer here as a 'heavy metal version of the pixies', we think that works well. The duo pound out an intense noise that defies their drums/guitar set up. This comes with a bonus Australian exclusive DVD.

BLACK BELT
TWO MINUTES TO MIDNIGHT
CD
$20.00
What if you kidnapped Pete Townsend, Iggy Pop and Otis Redding, put them in a small cabin, force fed them cheap beer and greasy food, and – under the supervision of Josh Homme – made them solve the great rock'n'roll riddle? You might come up with something similar to the diverse, yet straight-forward, soundscapes of Swedish power trio Black Belt. Big fuzzy guitars, fat ass bass, rolling drums, dirty denim, sweet soul and tons of swagger.

BOOM BOOM SATTELITES
EXPOSED
CD
$20.00
"Like The Prodigy fighting underworld with bloody big sticks" is how NME descibed Tokyo’s Boom Boom Satellites. The group offer a brutal clash of high-tech hooks, renegade rhythm and distortion-drenched guitar. The brainchild of Masayuki Nakano and Michiyuki Kawashima, Boom Boom Satellites have proven themselves one of Japan’s most exciting crossover acts, touring the US with such artists as Underworld, Fatboy Slim and Moby, performing at festivals worldwide, and headlining the White Stage at Japan’s vast Fuji Rock Festival in 2007.
THE RAVEONETTES
LUST LUST LUST
CD
$20.00
Denmark's The Raveonettes have returned with an amazing new album that is up there amongs the contenders for album of the year. Early surf sounds meet dreamy psych pop meet noisy fuzz. In stock now and a must own disc.
