review

When I first saw these guys at the end of last year they were a total surprise, two thirds of former Wollongong band Cikim, The Convenience were taking things down a totally different but impressive road. Their debut recording is a great reflection of what they are live and for a home studio recording they have really pulled together a special little five track disc. The trio specialize in delivering a modern day take on classic pop/rock sounds that bands such as Australian Crawl and Split Endz did so well back in the eighties. Despite this type of music still dominating commercial radio airwaves, it is somewhat refreshing to hear a new band doing it. If you are a fan of the aforementioned artists and current bands such as Sparkadia and even the more recent output from The Beautiful Girls, you should like this disc.
